As a part-time professor of law, I teach a special subject: the law of the Economic and Monetary Union. The lectures are given in the Spring. Students can access the University's Blackboard for more exact information.
As a Fellow of the Amsterdam Centre for Law & Economics (ACLE), I cooperate with colleauges from the Economics and Law Faculties. My ACLE page is here. On 18 April 2008, professor Smits chaired an ACLE Seminar on Access to Justice - Microjustice and other approaches to enhance the effectiveness of the law. This seminar was a sixth in a series co-organised by ACLE with other academic centres, within the European Commission Framework Program for Judicial Cooperation in Civil Matters 2006, entitled “One Europe, One Law, One Judge. Harmonization of Civil Law and Harmonization of Civil Procedure: Complements or Substitutes?”. For the program, speakers, papers and presentations, see the dedicated website.
